I’ve long desired to purchase and use a computer Bible. Last night I took the plunge and purchased the Christian Home LE edition of Logos 4 Bible Software. Several versions are available and unlike my norm I purchased the least expensive, to start, at $US 149.95 When I’m used to this I’ll likely upgrade one or two steps either to the Bible Study or the Bible Teacher version. At a glance this application is amazing. Considering what you get for your money it is dirt cheap. Wish I’d done this years ago … but years ago I likely could not afford it no matter how inexpensive it is.
Logos 4 opens on what is called My Homepage which contains a wealthy myriad of information. I’ll try to get more specific information about this shortly. Near the top left is the search box. Today in here I entered Matthew 5:1-12, The Beatitudes. I will be studying this passage and others during Lent this year. Any the search result is a new page, divided into 3 vertical columns (default and can be user adjusted). Beginning the top of left side column I see the following:
- A notes area
- 6 Commentaries
- My Content
- Cross References – The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge
- Parallel Passages
- A printable handout for a family, group etc.
- Topics
- Interesting Words
- 4 Power Point Sermons
- 5 sermons from SermonAudio.com
- 5 more sermons from Sermons.Logos.com
- 5 more sermons from Sermon Central.com
